Ardnahoe Release New Oloroso Matured Core Expression

Ardnahoe Bholsa

Ardnahoe Bholsa is the second core expression from Islay’s Ardnahoe Distillery.

Ardnahoe are excited to present their next release of Ardnahoe Islay Single Malt Bholsa. Matured in sherry casks, it joins their Infinite Loch release which arrived in 2024.

Ardnahoe Bholsa has been matured predominantly in Oloroso sherry casks, without artificial colouring or chill-filtration and bottled at their preferred drinking strength of 50% ABV.

The release is named after the spectacular ‘Bholsa’ caves, which are located close to the distillery on Islay. It’s said a visit there always leaves a lasting impression. Now, Ardnahoe says the casks used in its maturation have made their own impression on this whisky, contributing rich notes of peat-smoked raisins soaked in Oloroso. A rich reward indeed.

Tasting notes:

Expect red fruits, walnuts, orange zest and peat smoke on the nose. Raisins, dates and ripe plums on the palate underpinned by Islay peat lead into a long, peppery finish.

Availability:

Available to purchase online and in store from Friday 7th March, with a RRP of £60.
